You may not have heard of Moss magazine. In fact, unless you’re part of the literary scene in Seattle, you probably haven’t. It’s a tiny journal published-once-a-year for and by the arts community on the rainy northwest coast. But Moss hit the headlines when one of its short stories entitled ‘Sinkhole’ was optioned by director/producer Jordan Peele after a bidding war with M Knight Shylamalan. Remarkable in itself, but more jaw-dropping was that the story was really short – like, four pages short.
It’s a measure of the new reality in Hollywood where IP is king.
